This page gathers the personal protective equipment and fall arrest products used in working at height. Where guard rails or safety nets cannot cover the work area, a personal system ties the worker to a sound anchor point. It is never a single item but a set of components that must work together, and one wrong or missing link undoes the protection.
What the Range Covers
The range covers four groups that form one fall protection system. A mobile lifeline is portable, put up and taken down where no permanent line can be fitted or the work area keeps changing. A parachute type seat belt, or full body harness, holds shoulders, chest, hips and legs together and spreads the force of a fall across the parts of the body that can bear it. Static ropes and steel ropes tie worker and equipment to a fixed point. Carabiners and rope holders connect those parts and act the moment a fall begins.
What to Look for When Choosing
The right choice depends less on the product than on how well it suits the job:
- Type of work: Fixed platforms, surfaces calling for horizontal movement and work in suspension each call for different equipment.
- Condition of the anchor: The connection point must be a sound structural element such as concrete or steel, with an installation to suit it.
- Conformity with standards: Look for EN 795 on anchor and lifeline components, EN 353 on rope holders, and TS EN marking on ropes and cables.
- Compatibility of components: Harness, connector and line must work as parts of one system; items combined at random give no protection.
- Inspection before use: Check webbing for wear, stitching for broken threads and metal parts for deformation before every use; withdraw any doubtful item, and any item that has arrested a fall.
Equipment Alone Is Not Enough
Under Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, providing personal protective equipment is the employer's duty and using it correctly the worker's. Even the best equipment gives no protection when attached wrongly, so supply and training for working at height and rescue at height belong in one plan. Supply and installation run within an ISO 9001 quality management system. Consult our technical team to identify the equipment your work area needs.
